Google AI Studio provides multiple ways for you to submit feedback on model outputs, generated artifacts, and API request logs. This policy applies to all feedback submitted across Google AI Studio - including response ratings (such as thumbs up and thumbs down), written comments, and preference voting (such as Inline Preference Voting and Build Arena mode).
Why are we doing this?
We're constantly working to improve our AI models and services. Your feedback helps us provide, improve, and develop Google products and services and machine learning technologies, including Google's enterprise features, products, and services, consistent with the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
What data is included in Feedback?
To make informed decisions about our models and features, we collect certain data when you submit feedback in Google AI Studio:
- Prompts and Responses: We record the prompts and responses, including any uploaded files or media, from the interaction or conversation you submitted feedback about. When you participate in comparative preference evaluations, we also record the multiple response options presented so we can understand the context of your choice.
- Your Rating, Vote, or Comments: We record the rating you gave (such as thumbs up or thumbs down), the response you preferred in a vote, any feedback categories selected, and any written comments you submitted.
- Usage Details: This includes technical and operational details from your interaction or conversation, such as information about which model generated the response, model parameters, and system metadata.
Feedback by surface
Feedback can be submitted across different surfaces in Google AI Studio, with slight differences in the context captured:
- AI Studio Playground: In the Playground, feedback can be submitted using response ratings (thumbs up or down), or side-by-side Inline Preference Voting. Recorded data includes the conversation history, prompts, model responses, uploaded media or files, parameter settings, feedback and usage details.
- AI Studio Build: In Build (including Build Arena), feedback can be submitted on generated code, app outputs, and comparative model evaluations. Recorded data includes the build instructions and prompts, generated application code and outputs, comparative votes or ratings, any accompanying comments and usage details.
- Gemini API Logs: In the Logs and Datasets viewer, feedback can be submitted on individual Gemini API request logs. Recorded data includes the specific API log entry (including request payload, model response, parameters, and metadata) along with any feedback and usage details. Inline Preference Voting
In Google AI Studio, you might occasionally see a side-by-side comparison of two different responses to your prompt. This is part of our preference voting system. You'll be asked to choose which response you prefer, which helps us understand which model outputs users find most helpful.
Your Privacy
Do not submit feedback on conversations, prompts, responses, or logs that include sensitive, confidential, or personal information. Providing feedback is always voluntary.
